Use a large 4-cup blender for each recipe.

All ingredients must be organic. If you can get local from a farmers market, even better! —because we believe what you put in your body matters.

If you’re thinking about living or are currently living a low-tox lifestyle (and wondering why it matters), I’ve written more about that on the blog here:

What is a low toxin load & why is it important, when using natural ways of healing?

These smoothies are family favorites in our house—nutrient-dense, satisfying, and 100% guilt-free. Yes, we really do eat these for dinner sometimes! When a smoothie is this packed with goodness, you can rest easy knowing your family has been well-fed. We like to call this our version of ice cream.

🍇 Brookshire Family Favorite Smoothie

Thick, creamy, and loaded with antioxidants, healthy fats, and flavor. This is our “ice cream for dinner” special.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup blueberries (frozen)

  • 1 cup strawberries (frozen)

  • ½ cup raspberries (frozen)

  • ¼ cup raw cacao powder

  • 1 cup nut butter (almond, peanut, or hazelnut)

  • 1 tbsp organic vanilla extract

  • 2 tbsp molasses

  • ¼ cup (or more) raw local honey

  • 1–2 cups organic yogurt or raw milk (use extra-cold for an ice-creamy texture)

  • 2 tbsp per serving of your favorite medicinal herbs, adaptogens, or medicinal mushrooms (think calendula, chamomile, ashwagandha, lion's mane, reishi, etc)

Optional Tips:
  • Use deep frozen fruit and cold yogurt to get that “ice cream” texture.

  • Don’t overdo the liquid if you want it thick and spoonable.

  • add oats, granola, or hemp protein, chocolate chips, substiute the berries for cherries, etc.

🥭 Mexico Beach Smoothie

A tropical, protein-packed smoothie that tastes like vacation and fuels like a meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup mango

  • 1 cup pineapple

  • 1 lemon (pulped)

  • 1 lime (pulped)

  • 1 tbsp organic vanilla extract

  • 1 cup coconut milk

  • ½ cup coconut cream

  • ¼ cup unsweetened coconut shavings

  • 2 tbsp chia seeds

  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseed

  • 2 tbsp ground oats (or regular oats)

  • 2 tbsp hemp protein

  • Raw local honey to taste

  • 2 tbsp per serving of your favorite herbs, mushrooms, or adaptogens

Optional:
  • Add a splash of water, coconut water, or mango/pineapple juice if you prefer a more sippable smoothie.

Why Organic + Low Tox Living?

Every ingredient here is organic for a reason. Pesticides, chemical additives, and processed sugars have no place in our home—and certainly not in our smoothies. Low tox living isn’t about perfection—it’s about conscious choices that support long-term wellness, one bite (or sip) at a time.
